What is wisdom tooth removal?
Wisdom tooth removal might be necessary if you are experiencing any of the following problems:
1. Pain and Discomfort: Wisdom teeth can cause significant pain as they try to push through the gums.
2. Crowding: If there isn’t enough room in your mouth for your wisdom teeth to emerge properly, they can crowd or damage neighboring teeth.
3. Impaction: When wisdom teeth are trapped beneath the gum or only partially emerge, they can lead to infection, cysts, or damage to other teeth.
4. Gum Disease or Tooth Decay: Partially emerged wisdom teeth are harder to clean, leading to a higher risk of tooth decay and gum disease.
5. Recurrent Infections: Pericoronitis, an infection of the gum tissue around the wisdom teeth, can recur if the teeth are not removed.
